Creating those “natural moments” can be anything but natural. However whether using models or staff, certain photographic techniques can result in a feeling of “genuine” atmosphere for lifestyle images. Taking time to create beautiful “candid” moments of guests relaxing in the spa, or enjoying a candle lit dinner. Unique & original images conveying emotion, intimacy & warmth, pays dividends.

Often hotels do not have a budget for models. This is never a problem. I have used willing staff, team members & even myself 😉 as guests countless times. Coming from a fashion photography background I’m always looking to keep up to date with lifestyle trends & fashion lighting techniques. Utilising this for lifestyle reportage photography can deliver stunning results. And it keeps images relevant & current. In fact often using real people is more on trend, and can add to the sense of authenticity.

Natural Light: Although this is a great way to cover the small details and general hotel lifestyle/behind the scenes. For main interior images ( rooms, restaurants etc) I use professional lighting and architectural lens whilst taking a different approach to ensure the best results.
